Texas Licensed. Prices Upfront. Real Pricing In Writing.
WOW Locks LLC opened in 2021 with a simple job: get Texans back into their homes, cars and businesses without the runaround. The locksmith scam pattern is well known. Cheap ad. Bait price. The tech shows up and the bill balloons.
WOW Locks runs a different model. The Texas DPS license can be checked before any tech is dispatched. The price is quoted on the phone before any van rolls. The published flat rates are the rates, and any add-on is quoted on the call.
Every technician dispatched under the WOW Locks name works for WOW Locks LLC, which holds Texas DPS (TOPS) license B10595301. The company is insured and bonded, and its technicians bring 17+ years of locksmith experience. The approach is the same at 3pm or 3am, in Austin or El Paso: the total is quoted on the call, and any change on site is yours to approve first.
Many locksmith ads show a price far below what the job costs. Then the tech shows up and the bill jumps. The Federal Trade Commission has been warning consumers about this exact pattern for years.
WOW Locks runs the opposite playbook. The price is quoted on the phone before any tech is dispatched. After-hours fees, lockout complexity, hardware replacement: every add-on scenario is disclosed up front. The caller approves the total. Then the tech rolls.
See every flat rate and every add-on: view the full pricing page .
WOW Locks publishes its prices. Read them before you call.
Texas requires every locksmith business to hold a Texas Department of Public Safety license. The WOW Locks license is publicly listed in the state registry. Look it up.

Dean owns WOW Locks LLC, the Texas locksmith outfit that opened its doors in 2021 with one mission: get Texans back into their homes, cars and businesses without the runaround. The company holds Texas DPS license B10595301, is insured and bonded, and publishes its flat rates where anyone can read them before they call. No secret identities here. Every add-on is quoted on the call before anyone rolls out.
Today the WOW crew includes local technicians in Austin, Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, San Antonio, Midland, Odessa, El Paso, Laredo and McAllen, bringing 17+ years of locksmith experience to every call. More than 500 Texans rescued so far, and the signal is still lit. Callers can even get help in Spanish.
The WOW Locks blog is where Dean's team shares the straight answers they give customers every day: what a lockout really costs, when to rekey instead of replace, and how to keep the bad guys on the outside of your door.
The Federal Trade Commission has published consumer alerts about locksmith fraud. The pattern is consistent: a fake local ad with a low price, a phone number that routes to a national call center, an unlicensed technician who demands cash, and a final bill that has nothing to do with the quote. Search "FTC locksmith scam" to read the agency guidance directly.
Three things separate a legitimate Texas locksmith from a scam operator. Check all three before any tech arrives at your door.
Texas requires every locksmith business to hold a Department of Public Safety license. The number must be visible. Unlicensed operators cannot legally work a lock in Texas. WOW Locks: Texas DPS (TOPS) license B10595301.
A legitimate Texas locksmith quotes the total on the phone. Add-on fees, after-hours surcharges, and hardware costs are all disclosed before any tech rolls. WOW Locks publishes its base rates on the pricing page. If a quote balloons at the door, you are looking at the FTC scam pattern.
A real locksmith answers the phone with a business name and can give you a license number. Check both against the Texas DPS record before anyone arrives. For WOW Locks, the record is under WOW Locks LLC, Texas DPS (TOPS) license B10595301.
If a locksmith refuses to give you their license number before they arrive, hang up. Ours is right here: B10595301 . Verify it on the Texas DPS TOPS portal before any tech rolls.

Exceptional customer service! I found myself in an embarrassing/unfortunate situation in which I was locked out of both my vehicle AND my home. Miguel responded quickly and in the short time frame of his commute over to my home, a fellow neighbor was able to help me get back in. Even after I let Miguel know, he still stopped by to make sure everything was good. That alone speaks to the level of care this team brings.

Nice young man came to unlock our Toyota Camry. He arrived around 20 to 30 minutes. No joke he literally did not take more than 3 minutes to unlock the car. Really recommend. He beat all the prices the others were charging us.

UPDATE 12/1/25: Miguel, the technician, reached out to me directly to apologize for our earlier interaction and offered to take another look at my car key issue. I was so impressed by his follow-through and the team made everything right.

Terrific service. I locked myself out of the house on a Friday night. After reaching out to them, they gave a reasonable quote and a good quick ETA. The responding technician showed up within about 25 min and got me in without any damages or hidden fees. I would definitely recommend them.

We needed three cabinets opened. It was a Thursday and the large company we usually use could not get out until the following Thursday. Wow came out the next day. The cabinets had to be rekeyed and they came out right away when the keys arrived.

I was locked out of my home the second day of New Year. Called many locksmiths but they were not about giving any type of deals or offering any discounts. He came through for us. Met me at my home when we agreed upon and within 10 minutes I was sitting on my couch sipping on coffee. I would highly recommend his services. And if needed will call him without hesitation.

After looking for a couple days I figured my keys had to be locked in my car or lost. I explained my situation to Zach who was very understanding. He unlocked my locked car for me and helped look for the keys. Once we were not able to find them he reassured me, helped me get the best deal possible, and was even able to get new keys made for me the same night. I am very grateful for not only his work but how understanding and courteous he is.

Locked myself out, but had my cell phone. Called one company and they wanted $150. I called Wow and they said $95, so I agreed. 45 minutes later my locksmith came by and picked my lock in less than 5 minutes. Scary how fast a good locksmith can get into almost anything. Nice young gentleman, simple payment, and now I have a secret key so I do not do something stupid like this again.
